Travel Grant

Please take a look at the Travel Award Guidelines (presented at the General Assembly Meeting on September 10, 2008) before you submit your application.

RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM WINNERS! If you are a 1st place graduate student winner of the 2009 Research Symposium please follow the procedure detailed below to apply for your $750 travel award to support travel to present their research work at a national or international conference between now and the end of Spring 2010. The funding for the $750 travel awards has graciously been provided by the Vice-President of Research and Technology Transfer.

GPSGA Travel Awards are for current OSU graduate students and are meant to assist in the costs associated with travel for students presenting their own research at a state, regional, national, or international meeting/conference, etc.

Your major advisor or department head must sign the Travel Award application form. Any other sources of funds received towards this application should be reported and proper documentations provided.

The travel application consists of two stages. An online application and a hard copy application. Using the online application we collect data including your personal contact information, conference information, expense report etc. In the hard copy application you would be required to fill in some sensitive information such as your CWID and SSN. We need these sensitive information for IRS tax reporting purposes. You and your advisor would also have to sign the hard copy application.

Please be aware that incomplete application will be automatically rejected. Incomplete applications include application without proper receipts for the amount requested.

The application deadline for the travel award are as shown in the table below. If your presentation is in between the start date and end date in the table, then your deadline for submitting the application is before the date provided in the table. Both the hard copy and online application should be submitted before the deadline date.

Travel deadlines

We process applications in a batch. Typically checks will be disbursed within four to six weeks from the application deadline.

I have read and understood all instructions and requirements for the travel grant. I understand that I need to submit all the receipts for the requested amount. I also need to submit the paper copy of the travel grant application with all the required signatures. Failure to submit any of the above mentioned documents will automatically result in my application being rejected. All information provided is accurate to the best of my knowledge.
